the project works as a research about love and people.
A poster will be installed a chosen place, and will function as an intervention and proposal / invitation for the public to participate in the artistic project, raising the question "what is the sound of love? ". People will be able to read, and through the written contact on the poster, send their responses. From the result of this action, the answers will be transformed into a sound list that will work with sound (through sound collections) and with the word (through the list of answers obtained). The idea is to dialogue with people - through a sensitive questioning, and thus conducting a research in front of the passers-by - making of this bridge a collection, questioning-art. For me it is always important to get people involved where I'm working nd I believe that the questioning about love and the raising of is a research of extreme urgency and importance - besides being part of my research of collections and of love, now I can interpret it as a collection of love in a given space. Think like a mobile action, flexible, an infinite search. It can be a collection of information about a space or community, or an action thought out of affective encounters. My idea is to unfold the research findings and results into a soundtrack that may be available in soundcloud- working with sound and word.
SOUND OF LOVE // RED HOOK, NEW YORK 2019
Project developed during an art residency at @DE-CONSTRUKT (https://www.de-construkt.com/en/blog), in november 2019 at the neighbourhood Red Hook, in Brooklyn, NYC. During my stay at DE-CONSTRUKT, I developed a research around the neighbourhood, interviewing and inviting people from many different places around the area (church, community centers, bars, shops, cultural spaces) to participate in the project "@soundofl0ve", asking them the question "what is the sound of love?". From the result of this action, the answers were transformed into a sound list that works with sound (through sound collections) and with the word (through the list of answers obtained). The idea is to dialogue with people - through a sensitive questioning, and through analog portraits to document the action - making of this a collection of love in a given space. A mobile action, flexible, an infinite search. This project intends to be ongoing, and to be realised in many locations as also a part of the identity of the place where its taking part- what does "Red hook" thinks is the sound of love? How do people respond?
The results were documented through photographs, writing pieces and though audio.
Everything is documented on the instagram: @thesoundofl0ve.
